What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?
I have discovered I have a fear of failure: atelophobia.
Poetry, writing, drawing, painting and more.

I’ve got that fear also. It’s why I never took the certification tests I needed to take after getting my cybersecurity degree. My fear was both not passing and not getting a job even with the certifications.

I completely understand.

Would you have to take the classes over to try?

No. The certifications are separate. I’d just have to study for them. Two to three months for each. If I used my old computer, I could do the “lab” work virtually for the courses that require it. It involves having a server and a least one client computer. A small network. I could do the same thing by loading a server program on one of my computers and running two others at the same time. I haven’t done it in the past five years, so I probably won’t, but I think of it sometimes.

Don’t give up on the idea. Sometimes it’s just fear fed, poor timing. With A.I. joining us for dinner, those skills will be in high demand.

I practice Python programming every day for a little while, so I haven’t fully given up on a technical job. We’ll see how things go this year.

Sounds like a great plan.

You never fail as long as you keep trying.

Seems I’m afraid of nearly everything as I get older. Not fun.
