Why do others take such delight –
get such joy, to the point of spite –
from someone admitting they made a mistake?
They delight in the shake.
~
Revel in the quake.
Dance in the wake.
All mistakes are correctable.
Unless someone is undetectable.
~
You might not like the outcome.
It will be joyous for some.
Seeing you admit –
but do not quit.
~
Eat that crow.
Let your mistakes help you grow.
Let them laugh.
Let their hate bounce off you like chaff.
~
Difficult sometimes I know.
Words take root and sow.
You got a very deep cut?
Learn what you can and keep that strut.
~
We all make mistakes.
Are you willing to own it or fake?
Learn and grow?
Eat that crow.
~
My mistake may not be as devastating as yours.
But the same humiliation is in store.
People watching, waiting for you to fail.
Whatever you do, do not bail.
