I’ve been asked to teach a class at a conference. Class size; unknown. Time: 45 minutes.
First timed project:

Concerns: messy. This is being done inside. A lot of dead time and I’m not a Chatty Cathy.

It’s definitely a cool idea that doesn’t rely heavily on any particular experience set. Find someone in the group who is a chatty Cathy and all then an open ended question. They’ll fill up the space for you 🙂

Thanks 💕 Great idea.
I have another project idea that I’m going to share later. Our conference coordinator likes it better.

If someone asked me to teach a class, i would require a limit on the class size according to my ability and comfort level; rsvp so that i could have the appropriate amount of materials and space; and a budget for materials and compensation for teaching.

Thanks. Those will come later. When the organizer sends out the information to the public. Right now, I’m just in the planning phase. Finding a project, figuring out supplies, and how long it will take. Last year, I stepped in and taught a class for someone that flaked out. If she had a good reason for bailing, I never knew it. Doing the project at home, by myself, 45 minutes was a breeze. Doing it in the class room, with faulty electric (We had to use hairdryer to help the paint stick to glass.), it was a disaster. The end product was cute as all get out. But the overall class was a disaster. This is an awareness event, so most likely I will buy the supplies unless it’s something excessive.

As a musician, i get asked to play but am not offered any compensation. I’m ok with that sometimes, but also feel that artists are so often expected to donate their time and talent and are rarely compensated for their work.

It does happen. This is a domestic violence awareness event. I always help in some fashion.
