Have you ever been camping?
I’ve been camping, overnight, twice in my life. HATED IT. I was not fully prepared for the experience.
As with most things in life, the people you are with can make or break any trip. so, given the right circumstances, I might try again.
Of course, you’ve now provided people with a way to check to see if they are the “right person”.
Me: “Hey, Jolene, do you want to go camping?”
J: “Umm, thanks for the offer… But no.”
Bill walks up. “Hey, Jolene, do you want to go—”
J: “Yes!”
Me: “Heeeeyyyyy!”

I’ve done my fair share of that to keep from drowning 🤣

This was a group activity. We went whitewater rafting as part of this trip which was amazing. The most memorable part of the ‘camping’ was a park ranger shining his light through my window, “you okay in there?” 🤣

Much like my first trip to New Orleans; again, I was in college. It was okay. My second trip, I was with someone that loved the city. It was much more fun.

While I am all about the solo expeditions to a city, it can be nice to have someone to act as a guide.

Things (in my opinion) are more fun with someone. I’ve been to the movies by myself once. I hate going out to eat by myself. It’s an experience if you can share it.

Agreed, even as set as I am in my loner ways. Company is often nice to have when you can find it.

I grew up tent camping in the summer with my dad and brother. There are magical moments when you are under the stars and talking quietly around the campfire. Walks along mountain trails and dips into cold mountain lakes. There is work, and dirt, and some discomfort, but there is magic, too!

Thank you for the encouragement. 😊 It’s not totally off the table. I’ve spent day trips at different places.
The people that I went camping with were all coupled up. And I was the ‘wheel’, hence me sleeping in my car. When and if there is a next time, I’ll be better prepared.
