My last weight loss journey; learning

On the one hand, it’s a cryin’ shame that as an adult I’m having to learn how to eat. On the other hand, that knowledge is available for me to learn. But it’s sad that you have to wade through rivers of excrement to find a nugget of truth.

From get rich quick schemes to whatever the hell this is, your health is someone else’s fortune. Believe that! 1.  The weight loss industry; $90 billion in 2023 and projected to reach $305.30 billion by 2030. Weight loss industry? There shouldn’t be a weight loss industry! (in my opinion). Before you get upset with me, allow me to explain. Every time I’ve gone on a diet my food budget triples. Junk food with no health benefits should cost more than clean healthy food. That’s where I’m going with the ‘no weight loss industry’ comment.

Are you healthy? No matter what size you are; are you healthy? I’m not trying to deter anyone from their weight loss goals. And I understand that health issues lay in wait under the surface. There is a history of issues in my family tree; which is why I’ve been paying more attention to what my body is telling me. So, I decided to go to the doctor and have blood work done. It had been years. If I was physically able to do a cartwheel, I would have. And you know, the doctor didn’t fuss at me over the number of vitamins I take. 🤭

  1. B12 – a doctor told me to.
  2. D – same doctor told me to.
  3. Super Beats
  4. Biotin
  5. About once a week, I take a fiber supplement
  6. Turmeric – discovered I will not be able to take this during the summer. It increases my sensitivity to the sun.
  7. Allergy medicine- every 30 days I switch brands so that my body doesn’t get immune to the main active ingredients.

We are learning that everyone’s heart beat is unique. 2. The one size fits all method to health care in the U.S. might not be the right way to go. Everyone should be a size 0 to exude health and beauty – ?  😳 If our heart beats are as different as our finger prints, what does that say about our approach to health care?

I have been watching a lady named Autumn Bates on YouTube. She’s a certified nutritionist with a masters in nutrition and human performance. I’ve shared a link below. I have been binge watching her channel.

For years now, I’ve been saying, I think I’m addicted to sugar. Carbs and sugar, I just drool at the thought. There is a history of diabetes in my tree. Lately, I’ve been reading labels for sugar content. Kefir, which is supposed to have amazing gut health benefits, when you buy it at our stores; 18 grams of sugar, 8 grams of that is added sugar. Yes! I’m getting a starter kit. I’ve been eating more meat sticks when I want a snack, instead of going for a heavy sweet item. Did you know sugar is in beef jerky? What for?! Flavor? Fill it full of pepper or another spice and call it done. I found Chomps that are super good. But you’re gonna pay for them. And nasal spray. I called the company on this one. What the crap, why is there an artificial sweetener in nasal spray? “So it will taste better.” Was the answer I got. Who cares how it tastes? Does it work! That’s what I care about. So, if I use the over the counter version, I’m squirting artificial sweeteners up my nose. GREAT! A spoon full of aspartame helps the medicine go down!

Now, I drink diet pop and I know there is artificial sweeteners in that. But companies are sneaking artificial sweeteners in everything. I’ve learned this because I have a friend that can’t eat or drink them. It shocked my socks off at how hard it is to buy food that DOESN’T have them as an ingredient.

If you are on a weight loss/ health journey, I wish you the best of luck and lots of prayers.

    1. Thank you 💕 The plain one had added sugar as well. If I’m going to get added sugar anyway; might as well enjoy the strawberry. 😉 It’s part of my health plan to stop drinking pop. It’s not gonna be easy cause I really LIKE.

      1. No, I hear you. I live about 45 minutes from the Bluegrass Army Depot. People (they, you know) say there’s no more chemical weapons stored there. But who knows what damage that stuff has already done?

  1. I just try to eat healthy most of the time. I have made it this long- and will make it the rest of the way. Sure I’d like to drop a couple of pounds- but if I die tomorrow, i do not want my last thought to be “I should have had a piece of that cake!”
