“Honey, have you seen my lotion?” Sam called from the bedroom. Max walked into view, brushing his teeth as Sam dumped her suitcase on the bed. “I can’t find it anywhere.” She pointed at her legs. “I got too much sun. My skin is tight and hurts a little.”
Max came back, without the toothbrush. “While we are lookin’, I can’t find that can of hairspray.”
Sam sounded surprised, “you even went back in the house after it.”
“I know. It’s nowhere.” He kissed her on the cheek. “I’ll go looked in the car.”
“Thanks.”
“Nothing!” He reported.
“Nuttin’,” she shrugged, rubbing her fingers through his hair. Gently trailing her nails down his neck. “You don’t need hairspray.”Chills ran down his spine, a soft moan escaped him. “I do need lotion for this sun-soaked skin.”
“Our products ran off together,” he teased.
They sat on the couch; she snuggled into him. “Forbidden love.”
He kissed her on top of the head. “Just like us.”
The bonds of love run deep in this one.

I’ll bet it was the lotion’s notion to slip off.

There are *so* many inappropriate things I could add to this thread. My inner 13 y.o. is chomping at the bit. 🤣

Your text manages, with few words, to paint a very human and sweet picture. It shows how love reveals itself in the little things: in private jokes, in gentle gestures, in shared quests, and in feeling comfortable and vulnerable with each other.
