Lost Past; A Star Trek Story

Paramount Global owns the Star Trek franchise. This is a piece of fan fiction based on Star Trek the Next Generation.

Let the games begin

Thor, Freya, Worf, and Picard were in a different room now. It was a dark room; a light was turned on in another room, revealing an interrogation room. They were behind the glass watching. One by one people started appearing in the room.

“That is Emperor Mesa, Minister Urent, from the HaBlich society.” Picard seemed amazed. Five other members from the society appeared. Picard had never seen them.

Then Princess Sera appeared. She remained calm, very noble. They stood behind the glass and watched. They were startled when Data walked into the room. “My son, how do you feel?” They embraced.

“Weak.”

“Here, have a seat.” A chair developed out of thin air. Data sat as he was instructed. “How is my daughter?”

“She is asleep right now.”

Their attention was drawn back into the interrogation room when it became quiet. Sera spoke, “I said this would happen. I told you our planet would be destroyed from within and not one of you would listen to me. You took the book Mr. Data of the Federation gave me. Saying it was trickery. Who is being tricked now?”

“Shut up woman,” Minister Urent resounded.

She turned her head and stuck up her nose. “As you wish.”

Thor pushed a small button. “Princess Sera, right?”

“Do not answer that.” Emperor Mesa ordered.

By this time other people has started to show up. A Romulian, some other representatives from societies Picard had never seen before. “This is going to get interesting,” Thor smiled. He pushed the button again, “Princess, is it true that Mr. Data gave you a book?”

“Do not answer that.” Emperor Mesa ordered again.

She looked in the direction Thor’s voice was coming from. “Mr. Data gave me a book of science. It was about all the geologic events that happened on other planets. Things I saw in my dreams. They took the book from me saying it was too powerful to be in a woman’s possession. After they read it, they said those things could never happen. It was all trickery.”

“After the Federation left your planet, what happened?” Thor asked.

“If you answer them,” Mesa warned. She started to speak. Mesa hauled off and backhanded her, knocking her to the floor. Thor, with the motion of his hand, adhered Mesa to the wall. Data went into the interrogation room, helping Sera out of the floor.

“Thank you.” She wiped her mouth.

“You are doing fine.” He told her, leaving the room to join his friends once more.

Again Thor spoke, “What happened to your planet?”

“All those things that happened in my dreams. All those things Mr. Data and I  talked about. Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Tsunamis,” she was very careful at pronouncing those geologic terms. She was unsure of herself. “They all happened.

“Why do you think this happened?” Thor asked.

“We mistreated the Lady Ambassador.”

“I have heard good things about you and things you did for the Lady Ambassador.”

“I did what I could. I wish I could have done more. I was unsure how or unable to do more.”

“We are going to spare your life. You are going to go back to your planet to rule what is left of it with the wisdom you possess. My children seem to think you have the potential to be a great leader, especially my daughter. I want you to always remember why this is happening so that it will never be forgotten. Future generations need not make the same mistake.”

She knelt in the floor. “Thank you sir. I will work night and day to make sure my planet and my people never forget.” She disappeared from the interrogation room and appeared before them. Still kneeling. She raised her head and saw where she was. Thor changed his form in front of her. He changed into a giant HaBlich with bulging eyes, and large fangs.

“Vater.” Sera bowed even lower to the floor. She disappeared and Thor turned back to the state Picard was used to seeing. He released Mesa from the wall. Three more people appeared in the room. They looked around confused to be there. One was Admiral Burk.

“Emperor Mesa,” Thor roared. Mesa automatically fell to his knees in the floor. “Spare me oh mighty one.”

“Why?”

“I didn’t know who she was.”

“Would it have mattered?”

“Yes, of course.”

“But she is a woman; a second-class citizen. A child had more rights than she does.” At that a child appeared in the room.

“What’s the boy doing here?” Mesa asked.

“You can’t harm a child.” Picard was appalled.

“Did the child not tell you what happened to make you suspicious of my daughter?”

“He was doing what he should have. Our people are to report anything that happens out of the ordinary.”

“That gave you the right to turn my daughter into a test subject.”

Westerfield appeared in the room. When he saw all the people that were in this room, he almost passed out.

“Your daughter was different. We thought by studying her we could find ways and means of helping our own people.” Mesa answered.

“The ways and means for your own people where never the foremost thought when you all caused grave harm to befall my daughter.”

Emperor Mesa broke down into tears.

“So all of these people were following direct orders from you?” Thor roared.

“Yes.” He wailed.

“This boy is not the same boy that told on my daughter. He is the son. The boy may live. Youth and innocents need not be destroyed. However, for your families involvement in this atrocity, you will never be able to produce children ever again. This lineage dies with you.” Thor snapped his fingers and the child disappeared. All the remaining members of the HaBlich society lined up behind Emperor Mesa. “Minister Urent, you enjoyed your task as did your assistant. Causing pain to another life should never fill you with joy. They disappeared. The two remaining members, it was obvious they were guards. “You two do what you are told even if it means death. It is often that the messenger gets killed for doing what he is told.” Thor sighed. “I am going to spare you. You are going to guard Empress Sera with your lives. Nothing is to harm her. She will have many dark days ahead of her.” They disappeared. “Now Emperor Mesa, how did my daughter end up on your former planet?”
