Coreopsis 27 b

Sarah was in bed. She set up as David entered the room with a tray. He sat a new tray on a table next to her. “You must eat something.”

“I’m not so sure I want to.”

He removed the lid. The smell wafting through the air was great. Her stomach growled. He placed a napkin on her lap. “Here,” he pulled a chair in front of her.

“I can feed myself.” Sarah blushed.

“I know you can.” He looked so sad. “Are you still having nightmares?”

He lifted a spoon full of soup to her lips. She accepted. “That is so good.”

“I am glad you like it.”

“To answer your question, I always have nightmares.”

He fed her as much of the soup as she would eat. After she was full, he left her along.
