Doric columns, do you see?
Inside – flickering light beckoning me.

Is that snow piled high?
Or wind blown sand refusing to lie?
–
Beaten and pounded by the pressures of life?
Or melted from inner strife?

I drew out the Doric columns on a wooden board once for a woodworking exercise in how to use a compass and divider. Architecture students used to have to do all of the Greek columns five times; I don’t know if that’s still true. They are a timeless entry into artisan work and give a glimpse of how ancient artists used the world around them to determine design and perspective. And yes, your wax sculpture has a hint of that in there-that’s how it works.

😉 I would love to volunteer for a summer at an architectural site. Maybe someday. Thanks for sharing. 💕
