Waste not. Want not: hangers

This poem is being written in stages to highlight the things I do toward frugal living.

Throw this away? I think not.
Emery boards and duck tape to hit the spot.

Emery boards, given to me in number.
Duck tape from projects that did not slumber.

Fix you right up.
Use you to hang my cup?

      1. I read your A.I. comment. I’m being sincere with you my question. How does A.I. add to CO2 emission equation? The consumption of building the computers to hold A.I.? I would think overall it would balance out or reduce emissions. Jobs like mine are first on the chopping block for the A.I. revolution. The job market will evolve. We will have to find new jobs. Maybe work from home ones, less driving, less CO2.

      2. I posted that question twice and the moderator kicked it off both times. Troubling to say the least. I’m going to do it over again.. i pulled it from my platform to see if they would respond first.. but now i am going to get serious and ask people to post and repost til we get an answer.

      3. A.I. is here to stay. Right or wrong, unless we have a complete dystonic event happen. 🤔 I’ve written about a couple of those. 😉 Anything we have in electric for is subject. OpenAI, Microsoft, GrokAI, Apple, AI is everywhere. Even in the palm of my hand.

      4. For now.. i believe at some point all our devices will fail, and will fail us. I will not place my eggs in that basket. Metaphorically speaking, if we forget how to raise chickens ourselves.. or turn that over to corporate automation.. we’re screwed. Stories and art are the glue of our culture. Letting AI perform those functions for us, is to cede our humanity to a machine.

      5. Look what advances in technology has done to us already. Calculators, spell check etc. Now educators are saying we have whole generation that will not be able to read.

      6. I know it. Not to be a punster.. but the writing is on the wall for everyone to see.. and people in power over these things (including WordPress) just are not paying attention.. or can’t read the wall. idk.

  1. I’ve been frugal for the last six years since my accident. But I promise to at least buy a few clothes once I can walk again. I’m like you, though. If I think something can still be used after a little fixing, then I’d fix it first before deciding to buy a new one. 😉
