This was their sympathy?
Placing me in the night sky for eternity?
~
Canis Major and Canis Minor my only companions.
Feelings akin to abandon.
~
Denied my Merope, not from above.
Blinded for my love.
~
Accused, Artemis for trying to rape her.
Hunters we were.
~
Apollo’s jealousy over Artemis’,
What a fuss?
~
Cannot live. Cannot die.
Forever racing across the night sky.
~
Those drops you feel on starry nights;
those are not mermaid tears. They are reminders of my plight.
~
Reminders that I was given back my sight.
To see that I’m forever stuck in this night.
~
“There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy …”
This is not a prophecy.
~
See me. See me in this form in the night sky.
I cannot live. I cannot die.
