Struggle Bus

To the tune of “Folsom Prison Blues” by Johnny Cash

That struggle bus is rollin’.

It’s rollin’ ‘round the bend.

If that bastard crashed,

it wouldn’t hurt my feels one bit.

Stupid little bus.

Can’t we have uh moments peace?

If I win the lottery tonight,

I’d send that bus sailin’

Over the nearest cliff,

a tall and mighty one,

with lots of jagged edges,

just to watch it fall.

Stupid little bus.

Can’t we have uh moments peace?

I’m drinkin’ lots of coffee.

Second cup this morning.

I’m up before the sun.

Stuck on the struggle bus.

The driver won’t let me off.

Stupid little bus.

Can’t we have uh moments peace?

I would love to pop the tires,

just to watch them deflate.

It might help me feel better.

Since I walked out of the house with one pink sock and one purple sock,

on two left feet.

Stupid little bus.

Can’t we have uh moments peace?

My bed is calling to me sweetly.

So gentle and warm.

I just want to wrap in the covers

and drift off to sleep.

But the struggle bus won’t let me

Stupid struggle bus.

Stupid little bus.

Stop chasing me.

Stupid little bus.

Give me some peace.
